Gas Furnaces and Indoor Coils

Key Features:

  • Up to 96% fuel utilization efficiency
  • Multi-poise design for application flexibility
  • Durable, high-quality components
  • Matched Trane indoor coils add reliability, efficiency

Gas Furnaces

With conventional non-self contained split gas-electric systems the fan system which moves air through the ducts, the cooling coil module and furnace module are located indoors. Trane furnace sections and coils are available which discharge air horizontally or vertically. Also, the Trane furnace section may be installed without other split system components to provide heating only operation. For additional details, visit the gas furnace and indoor coils residential pages.

Highly efficient comfort in a compact gas-electric unit

The Trane portfolio of single- and two-stage gas furnaces offer highly efficient heating with up to 96% annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE). That kind of efficiency qualifies for most utility rebates and lowers utility bills. Available in heating capacities from 40 to 140 BTU. Furnace sections may be installed without other split system components to provide heating- only operation.

Features include:

  • Power supply 115/1/60
  • Multi-port in-shot burners
  • Direct drive, four-speed motors
  • Hot surface igniter
  • Heavy gauge, wrap-around steel cabinets
  • Heavy gauge aluminized steel heat exchanger
  • Integrated solid-state controls

Easy to specify and install with 3-way multi-poise design for flexibility

Trane gas furnaces are lighter, easier to move and fit into tight spaces, such as closets or short basements, with industry standard dimensions. They also feature a 3-way multi-poise design -- for upflow, horizontal left and right plus dedicated downflow – for easier specification and installation flexibility.

  • Shipped ready to install, no conversion kits required
  • Every model has at least two venting options

Superior components for durable, long-lasting performance

Durability starts with quality components. Trane gas furnaces come with corrosive-resistant stainless steel primary and secondary heat exchangers and an integrated rail system for easy access. The Vortica II blower, designed exclusively for Trane’s S-series furnaces, features improved airflow efficiency and is easy-to-clean with two-piece housing. The blower deck also includes full-length rails for easy removal and replacement, regardless of poise.

Full range of matched indoor coils for added efficiency

Add more reliability and efficiency to a gas furnace with a matched Trane indoor coil. Indoor coils are for heat transfer, a key factor to ensure building comfort year-round. Features include:

  • Non-bleed TXV with mechanical fittings
  • Durable casing easily attaches to furnace
  • Copper tube with aluminum fins
  • All-aluminum coil on all models
  • Coils with drain pan; pan is double sloped and non-corrosive
  • Support 3-way applications on some models
  • Split inner and outer door panels for easy coil cleaning
